The Days On End fest in Cork runs from 10-12 February. I will be playing in the 24 hour drone gig "On", which starts Saturday at 1pm.
I have completed a new eight-channel work, based on spectral processing of a single field recording, for a concert in England. More details as they develop.
I am using the new HTML5 plugin from SoundCloud, in place of the older Flash version. This should enhance compatibility with mobile devices. Added an excerpt from the Tank performance.
I am contributing the composition "2003 UB313" to an exhibition concerning "the sublimated landscape" at Oboro, Montréal. Curated by Helen Frosi (SoundFjord, London), Yann Novak (sound and video artist, Los Angeles) and France Jobin (sound artist, Montréal).
Limited edition CD released by Stolen Mirror. This work resulted from experiments with the No Input Software Environment (NISE).

My practice incorporates electroacoustic composition, sound installations, improvisation, radiophonics, phonography, poetry, theory and photography. Works have appeared in Ireland, England, Portugal, Germany, Spain and Sweden. I have an HBSc. in Theoretical Physics, a Diploma in Audio Engineering and a Masters in Music Technology. Recently I have been teaching classes and individual students at third level.
I use both empirical experimentation and philosophical research in order to blur the boundaries between science/art, work/play, machine/organic and so on. These dichotomies limit our engagement with the world... and each other. I am currently attempting a redefinition of acoustical ecology in order to transcend the ideologies that traditionally define "nature" and "ecology".
I am available for collaborations, commissions, seminars, etc. Contact me using the address on the FAQ page.
